Mission Statement

To promote awareness and support brain tumour research, through Daniel's wish of one day finding a cure.

The Organization

In the spring of 2007, family and friends got together in a show of support for Daniel. What all began as a simple get together for Daniel to get on the ice with some friends, turned into to the creation of an annual charity event that supports brain tumour research. This event was later entitled Skate with Daniel (SWD). The community showed immense support at Skate with Daniel 2008 and from these simple roots grew what is now the Daniel Bertoia Family Endowment Fund (DBFEF). This fund works with SickKids Foundation and b.r.a.i.n.child to help raise funds for this cause. The work contributed by the committee members is an essential part to the success of this organization.

This organization has much support from affiliates such as the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA), Coffee2Help, Meagan's Walk, SickKids Foundation, b.r.a.i.n.child, SickKids Medical advisors and many more.

Through these initiatives and support from communities we hope to one day fulfill Daniel's wish of finding a cure.
